Diverse Background, Diverse Clients
I completed an American Psychological Association (APA)-approved internship at the University of Southern California’s Student Counseling Services and went on to complete my postdoctoral fellowship at the Loyola University Maryland Counseling Center. My postdoctoral work focused on providing culturally competent services on a college campus.
I previously served as the Director of CARE-SC at the University of Southern California (USC), where my work focused on supporting survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. Following this role, I oversaw services at California Lutheran University’s Community Counseling Clinics, which provided care to low-income and under-insured individuals. In this position, I helped shape the training of future therapists and psychologists by emphasizing the importance of multiculturally-informed therapy early in their education.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist (PSY27065) and completed my undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in Clinical Psychology (Honors) and Sociology. During my time at Vanderbilt, I was honored to receive the Susan Jung Award for my commitment and passion toward cultural and political education within the university.
I earned my master’s degree and doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from the University of Indianapolis. My dissertation focused on the coming out process of South Asian gay men in the United States. While at the University of Indianapolis, I served as a diversity fellow and a member of the Diversity Advisory Board for the School of Psychological Sciences. I also developed workshops and continuing education programs related to diversity and clinical practice for students, staff, faculty, and clinicians in the Indiana area. My efforts were recognized with the Kerry Hefner Award for Outstanding Student in Psychology and the Blas Davila Award for Outstanding Service to Psychology.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging
Currently, I work with undergraduate and graduate students at USC while also serving as the Senior Director for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. In my DEIB role, I lead strategic planning and oversee the implementation of various initiatives across the department, driving systemic change and fostering inclusive excellence.
Additionally, I have presented at various national conferences and am published in the Journal of Multicultural Counseling and Development.
