Specialized Care and a Multicultural Therapy Approach

I'm Ekta Kumar (she/her), a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in trauma, LGBTQIA+ care, and multicultural and identity-related concerns. My approach considers the whole person, including the systems, relationships, culture, identities, and life experiences that shape mental health.

My approach

Seeking therapy is a brave step, and I’m so glad you’re here. I aim to create a space where you can be yourself, explore what's been difficult, and make sense of the experiences and patterns that may be affecting you. My work is trauma-informed, gender-affirming, and grounded in a multicultural perspective that recognizes how identity, relationships, and life circumstances shape our experiences.

Effective therapy and educational trainings

I provide individualized therapy for adults and couples navigating trauma, identity, cultural expectations, relationships, and life transitions. Drawing on evidence-based approaches, I tailor our work to your needs while considering the broader context of your life. My goal is to offer care that is clinically thoughtful, collaborative, and responsive to who you are.

I also provide workshops, trainings, and consulting for organizations, available virtually or in person as appropriate.

Telehealth in California

I provide HIPAA-compliant telehealth therapy to clients located throughout California. Sessions take place by secure video, offering flexibility for people balancing work, relationships, family, and other responsibilities.

I am also able to travel for trainings, workshops, or other educational sessions, or provide them virtually.
